In November the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announced that the National Living Wage (NLW) will rise to £8.91 per hour (an increase of 2.2%) from the 1st of April 2021. To avoid the risk of facing serious repercussions such as unlawful deductions from wages claims, fines from the Government and/or being “named and shamed,” it is important that employers pay staff abiding by the correct national minimum wage rates for their specific age groups.
